I want to start off by thanking everyone that has purchased and/or listened to the new E.P.. Your support means the world to me and I am so thankful that you took the time and interest to listen.
I've been working on some new ideas, in the studio, that may end up as the basis for the next E.P.
I've been trying to tackle something that has been with me for a while now; the death of my father. It isn't the easiest work I've ever done, but I am happy with the results so far and think it may end up being a good thing, if not the brightest and happiest material I've ever done. :)
I'll keep everyone updated as things progress.
Thanks again for all of the support and kind words.
Hello. I know it's been a while, but a lot has been happening.
I've been in the studio, recording a new E.P. I am hoping for a late fall / early winter release, this year. I've just finished the cover art and the mixing. The next step is to take some time and listen to the mixes. If there are any changes, I'll make them; otherwise, it's off to the masterer.
Thanks so much to everyone for all the support and encouragement. I truly appreciate it.
It's really amazing when I hear from people that have listened since the beginning. It's equally amazing that new listeners are interested and taking the time to listen. I am very lucky to have such loyal and enthusiastic supports.
Thank you all.
Hello. Okay, first things first; I'm sorry for not writing for such a long time. I have no excuse. :) In the future, perhaps I will use this news section for bigger news items and use social media for the day-to-day stuff. Either way, I'll try to update this more often.
Okay, now that that is out of the way, today was the one year anniversary of the release of "The Fields of Flesh". Thank you so much to everyone for such a great response. It really means a lot to me that after all this time, you still take the time to listen.
Thank you as well to everyone who has taken the time to write me. I've heard from those that have been with me since the beginning to those who have just discovered the music for the first time. Either way, it means the world to me.
Although I don't have any big announcements at the moment, I have been writing and have been really happy with the results.
Thanks again to everyone and I hope you all have a great holiday season.
Hello. I know everyone has been waiting, patiently for news about the new album. I have been rewriting some of the lyrics and making minor
adjustments to some of the songs. I am very happy with the album and hope to do some more vocal recording very soon.
I'm sorry it has taken so long, but I want to be sure the album
is right before I release it. I hope you understand and I really appreciate all of the kind words and encouragement. Thanks again.
Hello. First of all, I wanted to let everyone know that the 10th anniversary remixed version of "Hallowed & Hollow"
is now available on Itunes, Amazon.com and Emusic.com as well as other sites.
Next I wanted to give an update on the new album. I know a lot of you have been asking and patiently waiting. I was very close to the album and needed a step back.
I've taken some time away from it to work on the re-issue of Hallowed & Hollow and am now ready to get back to it.
All of the music and percussion tracks have been recorded
and several of the vocal tracks have as well. I plan to get back to recording the rest of the vocal tracks now and then it is off to be mixed.
I really appreciate all of the kind words and the interest in the re-issue and the new album. Thanks again.
Hello. It's been quite a while and I apologize for the long delay. I've been working
on a few things that I think you may enjoy.
The first is the digital, remastered, re-release of "Hallowed & Hollow". The album will be released for download later this year for the ten year
anniversary of its 1999 release. Gord (who mixed and mastered "If The Heavens Should Fall") is in the process of remastering all of
the tracks and I am quite happy with what I've heard so far. It is really amazing what a great job he has done, considering the original
recordings were recorded on an analogue 4-track ten years ago.
The second thing is the new album. The vocal tracks have, so far, proven to be the most labor intensive part of recording the album. I am quite happy with
the progress so far and, although it is taking longer than expected, I hope the end result will be worth the wait.
I want to thank everyone who has written and been patiently waiting for the release. The words of encouragement and compliments are very much appreciated.
Hello. Sorry it has been so long since the last news item. I've
sort of locked myself away working on the new album. I am happy to say that all of the instrument
tracks have been recorded and I will soon begin recording the vocal tracks.
As I've mentioned before,
the new album is a bit more upbeat than "If The Heavens Should Fall"
, though it still has quieter
moments like the albums before.
I want to say thank you again to everyone who has taken the time to write, both here and on
. I am very thankful for the
kind words and support you have given me throughout the years.
Hello. I just wanted to let you know about a few things.
There is a new interview up at www.virus-mag.com
. ACoT talks with Tracy Taylor of Virus Magazine about the past, present
and future, as well as the progress of the new album.
There are also new photos from a recent photo shoot in the Photos
Thanks again for everything.
Hello. I just wanted to write a quick note to let you know about some of the updates on the site.
I know it's been quite a while since any new photos were added to the site, so there are now four new photos in the Photos section. I hope you
An RSS section has also been added to the site. You will see RSS icons around the site. Click on these and you will be taken to an RSS
page where you can sign up to get A.C.O.T. news in your RSS reader.
Aside from the site upgrades, recording for the new album has been going very well. The music tracks for about half of the album have been recorded.
Along with those, I have been working on putting the last touches on the lyrics and doing some last minute arranging on the remaining unrecorded songs.
Thank you to everyone for the words of encouragement and the interest in the new album. I really appreciate it.
Hello. It's been a while so I wanted to write a quick note to let you know what's been going on.
As many of you know, A Covenant of Thorns is back in the studio, working on a third album.
I am pleased to say that things are coming along nicely. All of the songs and lyrics have been written and I am in the process of working on the last handful of
arrangements. I have also begun recording the individual tracks.
I really appreciate all of the messages and encouragement I have been receiving. It really means a lot to me.
I will be updating the site when I can to try and get some more current information up as well.
Thanks again for everything.
Hello. First off; A Covenant of Thorns can now be heard on HazMat Radio
. HazMat Radio
plays some of my favorite music and I am honored to be a part of things.
Next, thanks to everyone for the emails and messages about the new album. Although still in the early stages, things are coming along nicely. At the moment, I am working on a few of the
drum parts and in general getting things tightened up a bit. More later. Thanks for listening.
